History of Asch Roofing
John Asch Sr., my father, started learning the trade of roofing in 1955, working throughout central New Jersey, initially for a number of new homebuilders. In those days, there were no air compressors, air guns, etc. Roofers back then became very fast at hand nailing or would have to move on to a different career.
My father became proficient at residential roofing, and after approximately 3 to 4 years of working for builders of new homes, he decided to go into business himself and began John Asch Roofing.
From those early times until 2003, my father continued to do all types of residential roofing primarily, along with gutters and siding. In 1980, I started my own separate roofing business called John Asch Contracting, which was a minor distinction from my father’s business…

After about 10 years of being a general contractor, I decided to specialize in residential roofing only. I do this along with Velux skylights, gutters, and similar items.
