This homeowner had leaks for a number of years that no contracter was able to fix. Contractors where trying to fix the roof, but that was not the problem. The owner was paying good money for these repairs, but never got a guarantee. I explained to the owners that the leak was from the step flashing under the woodshake siding. The only way to solve the leak with a 10 year guarantee was to remove the siding. Install ice and water shield. New roofing along the wall. New step flashing. Install new primed cedar shake. We gave it one coat of latex paint. No more worries.
